Moving to Bend, a first impression
When a client writes like this, you have to share:
“When I first came to Bend I had few expectations; and perhaps that played a role in the development of my experience here. The freshness of a new place has a way of shaping our perspectives of it at a remarkable rate.
I was enveloped by the quiet and yet inspiring charm of this place. So many of the people are outwardly quiet and gentle, yet inwardly, fiery and passionate in their own subtle way.
The environment makes me want to work hard and become more than I am. But then this place makes me slow down and take in life for the moments. It’s a unique tension to be in a place that pulls us towards towards both sides of balanced humanity at the same time.
In a way, maybe it’s telling as to what kind of person you are.
One who loves life and the adventure it brings or one who prefers to sit back and let things happen. To me, Bend is a place of goers. Filled with those who want to tackle life; not out of aggression but fullness. A place where children become lovers of the outdoors, in an almost old fashioned way. Where adventure is always calling quietly and comfortingly. Calling in a gentle way, whether it’s a paddle down the Deschutes River right through town or high adventure in the Cascades… each person can find the place where they belong.
Bend is a place to call home.”
